
Rajmiel Odinec*
Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
As a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) staff from 1966 until 1989, Mr. Odinec served in a variety of executive positions. He began his career as an economist and financial analyst and later became Senior Economist, Chief Economist of the Industrial Project Division, Chief of Division of the Operations Department, and Advisor to the President. Also, by special appointment of the IDB President, Mr. Odinec participated in the restructuring of the IDB Pension Fund in 1981-82 and in its successful management through 1989.
In November 1989, Mr. Odinec joined the management and Board of Directors of SOL Capital Management Company.
Mr. Odinec studied at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Mexico), and graduated from UCLA with a BA in Economics. He received his MA in Economics from George Washington University and was elected to the Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society in Economics.

Samuel Sandler*
President
Mr. Samuel Sandler is a founding member of SOL Capital Management, an institutional Registered Investment Advisory firm, which provides investment guidance to high net worth clients. Since 1987, Mr. Sandler has served as President and a Member of SOL Capital Management’s Board of Directors. He oversees business development, strategic planning, and execution.
Throughout his professional career, Mr. Sandler’s signature has been providing a consultative, solutions-oriented approach. His unique blend of international executive management experience, coupled with his rigorous professional integrity, render his advice invaluable to SOL Capital’s clients. Born in Mexico, Mr. Sandler has a keen understanding of and an innate ease communicating across multiple cultures.
Prior to joining SOL Capital, Mr. Sandler led Fabriles del Norte S.A., FANOSA – one of the earliest manufacturing companies in Mexico to expand exports to the United States. In this capacity, Mr. Sandler redefined the firm’s sales marketing and financial strategy. Prior to joining FANOSA, Mr. Sandler was a consultant at Podolsky & Associates, a global management consulting firm.
Mr. Sandler earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and holds a BA in Business Administration from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico.
Mr. Sandler is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the Washington DC Advisory Council of the American Friends of Hebrew University, as well as an active participant in numerous family advisory boards. He is also a member of the World Presidents’ Organization and became a member of YPO, Young Presidents’ Organization, in 2003.
Mr. Sandler is a Registered Investment Adviser Representative.
Cynthia La Rue*
Chief Operating Officer
Ms. La Rue joined SOL Capital Management Company in May 2011. As Chief Operating Officer, she leads the firm’s client service, operations, technology, and administration areas, as well as supports the administrative aspects of investments and business development.
Prior to joining SOL Capital Management, Ms. La Rue was a Senior Vice President at Friedman Billings Ramsey (FBR) overseeing the institutional broker dealer’s compliance and sales administration for institutional sales, trading, and operations. FBR is focused in investment banking, equity sales, and trading, as well as providing independent research on eight industry sectors.
Prior to joining FBR, Ms. La Rue served as Vice President, Director of Internal Sales, Client Service, and Compliance at T. Rowe Price’s Third Party Distribution division in Baltimore, Maryland. T. Rowe’s Third Party Distribution division offers mutual funds, sub-advisory services, and separate accounts to financial intermediaries in insurance, wealth management, and defined contribution channels. During her tenure, Ms. La Rue drove client service, sales, and marketing efforts; the division grew from the firm's third largest to its largest division. Additionally, Ms. La Rue served as Vice President of Marketing at Van Kampen Investments in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois and in Houston, Texas. During her 12-year tenure, Ms. La Rue was responsible for internal and external sales teams, as well as client service groups. Van Kampen was formerly a wholly owned subsidiary of Morgan Stanley and was recently acquired by INVESCO.
Ms. La Rue earned a BBA in Business Administration in Marketing from Texas Christian University and is a candidate for an MA in International Service at American University’s School of International Service.
Ernest Odinec
Managing Director
Mr. Odinec joined SOL Capital Management Company in June 2010. He is heading the New York office with responsibilities in business development, investment research and portfolio management.
Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Odinec was a Vice President at Neuberger Berman working in the alternative investments group where he concentrated on hedge fund evaluation, risk management, due diligence, and portfolio construction. He has developed investment strategies for a range of clients including a $50 billion defined benefit plan for a major public company. Prior to Neuberger Berman, Mr. Odinec was an investment analyst at Strategic Investment Group (SIG), an investment management company based in Arlington, VA. SIG specializes in customized global asset allocation outsourcing for institutional investors, high net worth individuals and family groups. At SIG, Mr. Odinec was a member of the hedge fund of funds team; his responsibilities included manager selection, due diligence and risk management.
Mr. Odinec earned a BA in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, received an MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics, and graduated Beta Gamma Sigma from Columbia Business School, earning an MBA with a concentration in Finance.
Dr. Guillermo Schultz*
Managing Director and Vice Chairman of the Board
Dr. Schultz previously served in a variety of executive positions with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private-sector affiliate of the World Bank. Dr. Schultz began with the IFC in 1976 as an investment officer. He subsequently rose to become Senior Investment Officer, Divisional Manager and Director of the Investment Department, Latin America and Caribbean II, serving with the IFC until 1988.
Dr. Schultz graduated summa cum laude from the National University of Mexico. He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and holds his Doctorate in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.
In 1988, Dr. Schultz founded International Investment Management Corporation in Washington, DC, and continues to serve as its President.
