Kyle Whelan
Client Relations Manager

Mr. Whelan joined SOL Capital Management Company in July 2005. As head of the client relations team, his areas of responsibility include development of strategic and tactical initiatives, reporting (internal & client), and oversight of client relations activities.

Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Whelan was an account executive for a well-known marketing firm in the DC metro area. Mr. Whelan also has served as membership manager for a nonprofit organization, where he gained significant experience in operations management, accounting, and database administration.

Mr. Whelan holds both an MBA and an MS in Finance from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. He also holds a BA in Economics with a Certificate of Management in Accounting/Finance from the University of Rochester.

Mr. Whelan is a Registered Investment Adviser Representative.

 

María Angélica Camp*
Senior Client Relationship Specialist

Ms. Camp joined SOL Capital Management Company in April 2002. Ms. Camp is responsible for the daily interaction with domestic and international clients, facilitating requests, performing due diligence and striving to achieve excellence in client relationships.

Prior to joining SOL, Ms. Camp worked for HSM, the leading management information company in Latin America, as Marketing and Advertising Manager. During her tenure she helped the company become the market leader during its first year of operations in Argentina. Ms. Camp also has worked for McCann-Erickson and Ogilvy & Mather, where she began her career in advertising through an internship organized by Ogilvy & Mather and Fundación de Altos Estudios en Ciencias Comerciales.

Ms. Camp is a graduate of Fundación de Altos Estudios en Ciencias Comerciales de Buenos Aires (Argentina) and also holds an Advertising Designer degree from the Asociación Biblioteca de Mujeres de Buenos Aires.

Ms. Camp is a Registered Investment Adviser Representative.

 

Lawrence Lamonica*
Vice President – Business Development, Latin America

Mr. Lamonica joined SOL Capital Management Company in March 2007.  He is responsible for managing relationships with Latin American investors, as well as developing business opportunities in the region.

Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Lamonica worked in the international division of the Chilean Finance Ministry, advising officials on financial policies concerning Chile and key multilateral organizations.  Mr. Lamonica also spent three years at the Office of the Western Hemisphere of the US Treasury Department.  As an international economist, he recommended policy actions for Latin American countries and developed US positions on International Financial Institutions' loans (World Bank, IMF and IDB).  Additionally, Mr. Lamonica worked as an investment adviser at Larraín Vial S.A., one of the largest financial services firms in Chile. Mr. Lamonica has over ten years experience in finance and relationship management.

Mr. Lamonica holds a degree in Economics and Business from University Gabriela Mistral in Santiago, Chile and an MA in International Economic Relations from the American University's School of International Service in Washington DC.

Mr. Lamonica also is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chilean-American Foundation, a non-profit organization providing financial support to social projects in Chile.

 

Susan Kantor-Tupp
Client Relationship Specialist

Ms. Kantor-Tupp joined SOL Capital Management Company in December 2007 and is responsible for providing tailored customer service solutions for domestic clients in a timely, complete and accurate manner. She also actively manages and further develops SOL's ongoing (internal & client) communications programs.

Ms. Kantor-Tupp started her career as an economic consultant in the mergers and acquisitions field and then moved to the strategic marketing and international business development arena working first at Verizon and then at Qwest, two large US telecommunications companies. Immediately prior to joining SOL, Ms Kantor-Tupp was a rate analyst with a well-known Washington DC energy consulting firm assisting in the development of cost of service studies and writing expert witness testimony before appropriate regulatory authorities on behalf of Canadian and US electric and gas utilities.

Ms. Kantor-Tupp holds an MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland with a dual concentration in marketing and finance. She earned her BA in sociology from Syracuse University in New York.

 

Sebastian Fuentes*
Client Relationship Associate

Mr. Fuentes joined SOL Capital Management in March 2011.  He is responsible for interacting with Latin American clients and addresses their day-to-day service needs efficiently.

Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Fuentes was a Marketing Communications Specialist at ProFunds Group, where he managed various projects ranging from shareholder letters to public presentations.  During his time at ProFunds Group, he also was involved in editing different corporate communications.    

Mr. Fuentes is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, where he graduated with a degree in Latin American and European studies.  He also spent an academic year studying Political and Economic Systems of Latin America at the Universidad de Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain, where he earned noteworthy and outstanding honors in coursework.     

 

Dominique Gray
Records Management Supervisor

Ms. Gray joined SOL Capital Management Company in June 2005. In her position as Records Management Supervisor, she is responsible for the record lifecycle of all physical and electronic records - identification, storage, circulation and secure disposition. Ms. Gray also is responsible for establishing and maintaining the proper protocol of the company’s electronic records management system, the records management software suite and secure retention of records.

Prior to joining SOL, Ms. Gray was employed for 2 years with Arrow Financial Services providing research, analysis and administrative services.

Ms. Gray is certified by the Association for Information & Image Management as an AIIM ERM (Electronic Records Management) Practitioner. She has extensive experience with many application packages and project management systems. She is currently pursuing the AIIM ERM Master certification.

 

Morgan Adle
Records Management Assistant

Ms. Adle joined SOL Capital Management Company in April 2011. In her position as Records Management Assistant, she is responsible for assisting the Records Management Supervisor in ensuring that all records and files pertaining to client accounts are documented and stored appropriately by electronic and other traditional filing methods, and that they are readily accessible when requested.

Prior to joining SOL and while pursuing her education, Ms. Adle worked for the University of Maryland Department of Archives and Manuscripts, assisting in the acquisition and preservation of materials pertaining to the history and administration of the University of Maryland.

Ms. Adle holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature with a minor in Korean Studies and a Certificate in East Asian Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park.

 

Ashley Staten
Client Relations Assistant

Ms. Staten joined SOL Capital Management in May 2010. In her position as a Client Relations Assistant, Ms. Staten assists in processing daily inquiries from both international and domestic clients.

Prior to joining SOL and while pursuing her education, Ms. Staten worked for Farr, Miller & Washington, LLC.  During this time, she performed a wide variety of tasks that were essential to the firm including: back office operations, client relations, office and data management, and accounting.

Ms. Staten holds a Bachelors of Science in Global Business and Public Policy from the University of Maryland, University College and an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration.

 

Uri Lerner*
Client Relations Assistant

Mr. Lerner joined SOL Capital Management in November 2010. In his position as a Client Relations Assistant, Mr. Lerner assists in processing daily inquiries from both international and domestic clients.

During the 4 years prior to joining SOL, Mr. Lerner pursued various interests including: piloting a tutoring program for underprivileged students in Pasadena, California with the non-profit El Centro de Acción Social; local political analyses for the online Examiner in Los Angeles; and managing public transit at UC San Diego.

Mr. Lerner holds a B.A. in Political Science: International Relations from the University of California, San Diego.
